A Conversation
A Conversation consists of two voices that can be read either as separate poems (one house at a time) or two poems (both houses at once, left to right).
The voices belong to children who--despite their seemingly incompatible personalities--are close friends. One is edgy, listens to The Misfits, and wishes he were an orphan. The other is shy, the type to hide under the table with a bowl of pudding and not come out for a very long time.
Both voices are innocent and heartless and, as they grow apart, increasingly nostalgic.
